The Little Ways To Keep Yourself Motivated In The New Year

Keep Yourself Motivated In The New Year motivation tips help advice
The new year, the time when we feel obliged to make new years resolutions that we know downright we won't keep. For some reason, which still manages to escape me, people have a sudden urge in the first week of January to make all these promises that they know they won't be able to keep. They kid themselves they are going to lose weight, read more books, go to the gym, take up a new hobby, become a leprechaun, I don't know okay, the list is endless.

But the reality is that by the second or third week of the new year, you haven't gone to the gym, you haven't read a book yet and you are certainly no closer to becoming a world famous leprechaun! Now, don't just think this is me having a dig at everyone because they can't keep to resolutions, there is many that I have said I would do when I was younger, which let's face it - never happened aww bless Nicole!

So instead of just failing those resolutions and goals, let's try and get you to achieve them ( if it's only one, that's a start and probably an improvement on last year) and what's going to get you started, MOTIVATION! Today, I am sharing some little tips to keep you motivated whether you have new years resolutions to keep or you just want 2016 to be a year of success! Enjoy!

#1 KEEP IT REALISTIC
Trust me, I know it can be so easy to get carried away with your dreams and aspirations! Your motivation peaks, you feel like you can conquer Everest resulting in you setting pretty unrealistic goals! In order for your motivation levels to stay steady, small little goals are much more achievable. For example, I want to be a daily blogger so at the moment I am uploading every other day to ease myself into it. Going full blown ahead into things can sometimes have the adverse effects upon our motivation!

#2  REWARD YOURSELF
Different people are going to interpret this is different ways. The Chocoholics amongst you may see this as a prime opportunity to reward yourself with your favourite treat and that's okay! The main premise of this idea is by rewarding yourself either by physical rewards or just taking time out to praise yourself for your hard work and efforts are going to keep you motivated and focused on achieving and doing well. ( Also, the perfect excuse to indulge in your favourite foods)

#3 HAVING LITTLE GOALS
Having one big goal can seem overwhelming and intimidating which often unmotivated people and leaves them not achieving  their goals! Instead of saying you want to reach 5000 bloglovin followers by the end of the year instead trying to set yourself smaller for manageable goals such as gaining 10 followers a week, this is a lot more achievable and motivating than one big scary number or goal!

#4 HAVE A GOOD PLAN
" Using mainly spoons we're going to dig a tunnel under the circle and release it into the wild" * well done if you got my film reference there* no but seriously, you don't need a well structured and organised plan for your goals but having a bit of an idea why you want to achieve them and what you are going to learn by achieving your goals! For example, I want to become a daily blogger because I want to create more content, that I enjoy and watch my blog grow this year. On the contrary, if I had no idea why I wanted to be a daily blogger I am probably less likely to want to achieve and not be as motivated!

#5 TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
If your goal is going to be a long-term one tracking your progress may be really beneficial for you! I know that when I parents did exercise one year, many moons ago on an exercise bike they had a notebook where they recorded how many miles they did a day. Seeing on paper your progress is extremely influential and motivating, inspiring you to keep going consequently achieving that goal of yours! In relation to blogging, monitoring your stats and analytics should help you want to keep professing and achieving!

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed these quick five tips on how to keep yourself more motivated during the new year!
