My Favourite Mental Health Bloggers

My Favourite Mental Health Bloggers UK lifestyle mental illness depression OCD anxiety help advice

I love reading blogs (when I get the chance that is), but if there's one thing I love reading more than blogs, it's reading mental health blogs. For sure, I love myself fashion, lifestyle and beauty blogs but there's something about mental health blogs that I find incredibly reassuring, comforting and helpful. They help me feel less alone, at times where I feel like I'm the only one who is suffering from mental illness in the entire universe.

I absolutely love the mental health blogger community on Twitter. Everyone is so incredibly brave and strong but also loving and supportive to everyone else. A day doesn't go by when I don't see someone spreading the love or offering a virtual hug. It makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. And I've just realised how incredibly cheesy that sounds.

For this post, I've picked five of my fave mental health bloggers, but I'm definitely going to have to make this into a series. There are so many wonderful bloggers out there who do an incredible job of reducing the stigma and raising awareness of mental health issues. I honestly admire every single one of you. I'm going to definitely make this into a little series to spread the love as much as possible.

#1 Marc
Oh my God this guy. This guy, though. Marc is incredibly supportive, strong and understanding. If you ever are having a bad day and need someone to listen to you, Marc is your guy. A day doesn't go past when I don't see him commenting, supporting and sharing the love on Twitter. Marc is also incredibly strong with his own battles against mental illness. I've particularly enjoyed his series of 'letters to' where he wrote such thoughtful, sweet and honest blog posts to all his blogging friends, including me, on his blog. I can't get over how cute this idea is.

#2 Kayleigh
I love Kayleigh so much, I really do. Fellow OCD sufferer, she's been there for me from day one, supporting me through the darkness. Not only is Kayleigh incredibly supportive, kind and loving, she also writes an amazing blog about ending the stigma and discrimination that surrounds OCD. She does an absolutely fantastic job about educating her readers on understanding the importance of what OCD actually is and what it definitely is not. This girl is so adorable, and the fact she lives so far away from me honestly hurts! Kayleigh is like a ball of sunshine, puppies, rainbows and unicorns!

#3 Hannah
I couldn't write a post all about my favourite mental health bloggers without including Hannah. Hannah is honestly one of a kind. The work and effort she puts into raising awareness of mental illness and reducing the stigma are phenomenal. Hannah is the founder of #TalkMH which is a weekly chat on Twitter, every Thursday at 8:30 pm (GMT). This chat is honestly the highlight of my week. It's such an amazing place to bring so many like minded people, suffering from all kinds of mental illness to together to support each other and share advice. The community that's developed from this chat is incredible, and I can't thank Hannah enough for that.

#4 Rachel
Rachel is just one of those people who I constantly feel like makes the blogging community a brighter, happier place. Rachel produces excellent, informative blog posts about mental illness as well as other topics as well ( which I love just as much) Rachel is never afraid about talking about her mental health in a very honest way. She also writes brilliant mental health posts which are slightly different from the mainstream one of my faves being about music and mental health, which was a thoroughly enjoyable read. I can't wait to see what the future hols for Rachel and her blog, all I know is that it is going to be great!

#5 Mel
Last but not least Mel. This girl means a lot to me. Like seriously a lot and I don't know if she knows that or not. Fellow OCD sufferer, Mel understands. Mel gets it. When I've been going through rough patches, Mel has been one of the key people to pull me through. She's talked things through with me and helped me understand the emotions I was feeling. Mel also writes honest, informative and all round fantastic blog posts about mental health and her personal battles. This girl is so brave, but yet so kind and caring. When I talk to Mel about my problems, it never feels like I'm a burden and that's amazing. I feel like everyone needs a Mel in their life.

I hope you have found yourself a couple of new blogs to check out. I really can't recommend these lovely guys enough, they mean a lot to me, so I hope you find their blogs equally as brilliant as I do.

Thanks for reading, as always X
