My 2018 Goals

My 2018 Goals lifestyle blogger new year

At the end of 2017, I was looking through my old blog posts which I never do, can I just say. I came across my reflecting on 2016 post which was a really nice trip down memory lane. At the end of that post, I had written myself some goals for 2017. There are no prizes for guessing who wrote these goals and totally forgot about that they even existed. Yep, it was me. The nice thing was that I actually achieved all those goals in 2017. How cool is that?

Goal posts are somewhat overdone in the blogging community, especially at the start of the year. They are not original and don't make for particularly fun reads, well in my opinion they don't. This is why I haven't done them on my blog in a while. But since finding my old goals and looking back at them, realising how much I have achieved, I want to do a goals post for 2018.

My blog is like a scrapbook. An online scrapbook that is shared with thousands of people but a scrapbook nonetheless. It documents my progress, the highs and lows of this good old thing called life. Which is why I'm doing this post today so I can look back at what I have achieved and be proud of myself. Or least that is the plan anyway. After all, I blog for myself, not anyone else.

2018, is going to be a very busy year. One of change. Quite a lot of change in fact. I am ready for it though. I'm nervous but also excited for what 2018 has in store for me. I can feel that it's going to be a good year. Or at least, I'm telling myself it's going to be a good year.

1. FINISH MY A LEVELS
This is my biggest and most important goal of the year. By the end of June, I would have been at college for three years. If you've followed my blog throughout those three years you would know that those years haven't been the easiest time of my life. Although year one and two were pretty terrible, year three has been a lot better than expected. My final exams are now in sight. Doing well in these exams means more than just a few letters on a bit of paper. They are mini trophies to acknowledge that I've got through these three years of hell. Doing really well in these exams would just be the cherry on the cake, however, at the end of the day. I'll be happy if I just pass.

2. GET MY FIRST JOB
Although you could argue that blogging has become somewhat of a job in the last year. I made money from it and it took up quite a lot of time, it's not like a proper job with a regular income or set working hours. I'm 19 and I've never had a job. Dun dun dun... After I've finished my A-levels I'm hoping to pick up a Saturday job, nothing special mind you. First I've got to work out how to write a CV #help

3. START MY DEGREE
In October I'll be starting my psychology degree at the Open Uni. The great thing about Open Uni is that there are no entry requirements for Bachelor degrees meaning that it doesn't matter if I don't get the grades I want in my A levels I can still go on to further my passion in psychology. Studying with the Open Uni means that I can work from home. This is a massive bonus for someone like me.

4. READ 50 BOOKS
Last year I properly got back into reading. Towards the end of the year, you may have seen that I had done more book-themed posts here on my blog. By no means am I turning into a book blogger but I will be talking more about books over here, because its a passion of mine and my blog is a place where I share and talk about my passions. 50 books seems a doable total. You can follow me on Goodreads to see my progress. Also please add me as a friend, I'll always accept! #friendless

5. START BEAUTIFUL MINDS MAGAZINE UP AGAIN
Last year if you were following me on my social media, you would have seen that I started up a mental health magazine called Beautiful Minds. We published two issues that were amazing and went down so well with you guys. However, my A-levels kind of got in the way and the magazine has been on hold till they are done and dusted. When Beautiful Minds comes back I'm planning on bigger and better things! So keep your eyes peeled!

2018, is going to be good, I can feel it! I also turn 20 this year, like I become a proper adult- whatever that means! Saying that I have got 11 months to go so I have plenty of time to mentally prepare myself.

What are your goals for 2018? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading, as always X
