3 More Netflix Originals You Need To Watch

A while ago I did a post, all about some of my favourite Netflix Originals. You can read that post HERE if you missed it. Being an introvert and on quite an extended summer holiday, I have managed to watch quite my fair share of Netflix originals and films, in the last month or so.

Some of which, have been quite terrible, others, however, have been SO good! Like, I've watched them over and over because I just could not get enough.

These are the favourites that I'm going to be sharing with you today. I've narrowed it down to my top three. I hope you find some new favourites, to enjoy watching!

SAFE

Okay, so this is easily, my favourite TV series I have ever watched. EVER! Its so addictive and makes for compulsive watching. So what actually is safe all about? Safe is a crime mystery, which follows Tom Delaney, a widowed father of two teenage daughters, after one day his 16-year-old daughter, Jenny goes missing, he unravels a lot of secrets and realises he doesn't really know anyone- not even his own family.

What makes Safe so special? For me, it was the pace. It's quick which makes the show so engaging and captivating. I literally couldn't keep my eyes away from the screen while watching. In every episode, there are twists and turns which you just don't see coming. You pretty much doubt every single person at one point or another. I definitely didn't see the ending coming, which is always a good thing when it comes to mystery shows.

Another, thing that I loved about this series was that it is set in the U.K. I'm much more of a fan of shows set in my country, maybe due to the fact that I can relate more. If you like crime or mystery dramas which are suspenseful and keep you guessing to the very end, Safe is one that you need to add to your to watch list.

MIND HUNTER

If you are into your forensic psychology, then this is the show for you! Mindhunter is an American crime drama, based on the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's elite serial crime unit, which is also a very good book, that I recommend you give a read if this topic excites you. Mindhunter is set in 1977, the early days of criminal psychology and criminal profiling in the FBI. The series mainly follows, FBI agents Holden Ford, Bill Tench and psychologist Wendy Carr who originated the FBI's behavioural science unit.

The agents' interview imprisoned serial killers in order to gain an understanding of how they think and behave so that this understanding can be applied to other ongoing cases. Mindhunter is so interesting. I found it fascinating to understand how a serial killer's mind works and how the origins of criminal profiling came about. This series is not all doom and gloom, there is lots of humour and funny moments too, to lighten the mood.

If you are interested in the inner workings of a serial killers mind, then this show is going to be right up your street. If you are interested in watching Mindhunter, make sure you get around to it quick because there is a season two coming out soon!

A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS

One of my favourite book series as a child was a series of unfortunate events. I have vivid memories of borrowing those 13 books from my primary school library. So when I heard, that they were making it into a TV show on Netflix, excited was an understatement. The show starts with a mysterious fire that kills the Baudelaire children parents. When they are made aware of this news, they are put in the care of a distant relative, Count Olaf, whose intentions are far from good. Once the children realise Count Olaf is far from the caring relative, they thought he was, they set out to uncover a secret society their parents were involved in, in their past.

Each book is divided into two episodes. There are currently two seasons, with the third season coming soon. I love the dark, twisted and creepy nature of the books, that is portrayed well on screen. Even though it is intended for children, it for sure can be enjoyed by anyone of any age.

If you like dark shows with creepy characters and elements of mystery, I am sure you will love a series of unfortunate events.

Let me know if you have watched any of these or any other Netflix recommendations in the comments down below! I'm always on the lookout for new shows to watch!

Thanks for reading, as always X
