His And Hers By Alice Feeney | Book Review

Looking for a dark and really engaging domestic thriller? Then keep reading as today I'm taking part in the blog tour for His and Hers by Alice Feeney, which was kindly sent to me for review by HQ book*. If you love a good domestic thriller, you are not going to want to miss out on this one.

What is His And Hers about?

If there are two sides to every story, someone is always lying…

Jack: Three words to describe my wife: Beautiful. Ambitious. Unforgiving.
Anna: I only need one word to describe my husband: Liar.

When a woman is murdered in Blackdown village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Anna’s ex-husband, DCI Jack Harper, is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.

Someone is lying, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

What did I like about His and Hers?

I really enjoyed His and Hers. I particularly liked the writing style. I found it very easy to read and very engaging. It was definitely a page turner, as it had me gripped till the very end.

I would definitely say that it started of as a more slow burn thriller, but as the story went along the pace increased. As new story lines were added it became more complex but at no point was it too hard to follow or to understand what was going on.

It is a really dark thriller, with a lot of potentially triggering subject matter, but this isn't something I had an issue with. If you love your dark thrillers, like me, I think you'll really this one. I would say this has to be one of my favourite domestic thrillers I have read this year so far.

What did I not like about His and Hers?

I honestly, didn't have any issues with this book. Possibly, things could have got going a little bit quicker at the start, but it didn't really bug me too much as I liked how the atmosphere built.

Who did I recommend His and Hers to?

I recommend His and Hers to everyone, particularly people who like domestic thrillers. I think this thriller would be enjoyed by those new to the genre but also those who have read quite a few domestic thrillers, like myself.

I would add though, potential trigger warnings for rape, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, suicide and animal abuse. It contains quite a lot of dark subject matter which may not be for everyone.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I gave this book four stars. I really enjoyed this domestic thriller. I highly recommend it!
