A Lie For A Lie By Julie Corbin | Book Review

Today I'm taking part in the blog tour for the really well written and addictive psychological thriller, A Lie For A Lie By Julie Corbin which was kindly sent to me by Hodder and Stoughton*. If you are looking for a thriller which will keep you on the edge of your seat, then I can't recommend this thriller enough.

What Is A Lie For A Lie About:

We all tell lies, don't we? Most of the time, they're harmless. But every now and then, we lie without thinking about the consequences.

As a school nurse, Anna Pierce is a well-respected and trusted member of the community. So when she is accused of hitting a pupil, the reaction is one of shock and disbelief.

The pupil is Tori Carmichael - Anna's mentee and a troubled child known for bending the truth.

With her career and reputation on the line, Anna is determined to clear her name. But before she can, the worst happens: Tori is found dead.

Suspicion mounts against Anna, who says she didn't do it.

But if she isn't the killer, there is someone out there who is . . .

What I Loved About A Lie For A Lie:

This was such a fantastic, well written psychological thriller. It was well paced and a really engaging read. I found myself trying to guess the ending right from the start and I still didn't guess it correctly.

The plot was really interesting. There was so many twists and turns, I was hooked from the very start to the very end.

It was a super quick and easy to read book. There was so many really tense parts which meant that I just did not want to put the book down. I really enjoyed this thriller a lot.

What I Did Not Like About A Lie For A Lie:

Honestly, I don't think there was anything that I did not like about this book. It was really engaging, I was hooked right from the start and I did not see the ending coming. It ticked every box for things I love to see in thrillers.

Who Do I Recommend A Lie For A Lie to:

I would recommend this thriller to everyone. Whether you are completely new to the genre or you have read a lot of thrillers. I think this thriller would be great if you have never read a thriller before, as its a perfect introduction into well paced and addictive thrillers you never want to put down.

However, there are trigger warnings for violence, murder, self-harm and child abuse references. So, if those are topics you struggle with, you may want to give this book a miss.

Overall thoughts:

Overall, I loved this thriller. It was such an enjoyable read. I'll definitely be checking out more books from this author in the future. Highly recommend!
