The Stolen Sisters By Louise Jensen | Book Review

Today I'm reviewing and taking part in the blog tour for The Stolen Sisters by Louise Jensen which was kindly sent to me by HQ books*. I was so excited to read this book after reading The Family last year and loving it, I couldn't wait to read this one and it definitely didn't disappoint!

What is The Stolen Sisters About?

Sisterhood binds them. Trauma defines them. Will secrets tear them apart?

Leah’s perfect marriage isn’t what it seems but the biggest lie of all is that she’s learned to live with what happened all those years ago.Marie drinks a bit too much to help her forget. And Carly has never forgiven herself for not keeping them safe.

Twenty years ago The Sinclair Sisters were taken. But what came after their return was far worse. Can a family ever recover, especially when not everyone is telling the truth…?

What I loved about The Stolen Sisters?

This book really did have me hooked from the start. The short chapters made this book so engaging and easy to read. It definitely was a page turner.

One of the main things I loved about this book was the OCD representation. As someone who has experienced OCD I think the rep was incredibly accurate and did not fall into common stereotypes that other books often do. It was really nice to read some well done mental health rep in a thriller, something which you don't see all that often.

The plot was really interesting and different. I really felt for the characters, especially Leah who I had a deeper connection to.

What I did not love about The Stolen Sisters?

Overall, this book was fantastic. There was only one thing I didn't love and that was the use of quite a common thriller trope towards the end. But I can't go into too many details as that would be giving away spoilers. But on the whole, it was a fantastic domestic psychological thriller full of suspense.

Who do I recommend The Stolen Sisters to?

I recommend this book to everyone! I recommend this to people who have just discovered psychological thrillers or who are long standing fans of the genre. This is a wonderfully suspenseful thriller and I can't recommend it enough.

I would just give trigger warnings for violence, abduction, OCD, gas lighting and suicide. If those are topics you may find difficult to read maybe give this one a miss.

Overall Thoughts

The Stolen Sisters is a fantastic psychological thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat till the very end. I can't wait to read more of Louise Jensen's other books, she is fast becoming a new favourite thriller author of mine.

The Stolen Sisters comes out on the 1st October
