The eye should be drawn to it immediately, and yet it should not overpower the rest of the décor. Instead, it should complement them and help to draw the room together cohesively. Here are some things to think about when creating your feature wall.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Colour</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The easiest place to start is with the colour of the wall. It should be very different from anything else in the room so that the eye is drawn to it. This does not always mean that it should be bright – if you like muted colours then there are plenty of ways to still create something eye-catching but a little muted.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Remembering to <a href="https://www.bhg.com/decorating/color/basics/color-wheel-color-chart/">use the colour wheel</a> can be one of the easiest ways to create something that stands out. You do not have to be garish here, but choosing colours on the opposite side of the wheel to the main ones used throughout the room will really help to create something interesting. For example, in a room decorated in shades of blue, notes of orange and yellow will always catch the eye.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Texture</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">A feature wall should always be a little different to the others in the room. This means that it is a fantastic opportunity for you to play with texture. Why not bring the outside in? Using something like <a href="https://shousugiban.co.uk/">black timber cladding</a> means that you are going to be able to create a space that is eye-catching and tactile.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Black timber cladding is, of course, just one example of exterior materials that you could bring inside. Exposed brick or slate will always be classic options. You could also think about concrete or rubber for a more industrial space. Play with texture as much as you do colour!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhukaJLioQofD4q4NoQhOxYgIpHxFgGVmYe0UWknAz8-EQf91X4CxgXBoW1LmzjlvujGrpJhO88EvzNorSVuAMjPn7QU4VkHMvIEekMPvCn-w02_onVeqGSQRHqS_klPdET9aN4RkgWUaoR/s2048/jonny-caspari-KuudDjBHIlA-unsplash.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhukaJLioQofD4q4NoQhOxYgIpHxFgGVmYe0UWknAz8-EQf91X4CxgXBoW1LmzjlvujGrpJhO88EvzNorSVuAMjPn7QU4VkHMvIEekMPvCn-w02_onVeqGSQRHqS_klPdET9aN4RkgWUaoR/s16000/jonny-caspari-KuudDjBHIlA-unsplash.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table>Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@jonnysplsh?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Jonny Caspari</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/s/photos/decor?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Unsplash</a><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Arrangement</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Having spent so much time and effort creating the wall, you need to make sure that the eye is indeed drawn to it. For this reason, you need to make sure that you <a href="https://www.thespruce.com/rules-for-arranging-furniture-2213418">arrange the room</a> around the wall.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It would be silly to put this work in and then immediately move a big and clunky piece of furniture right in front of it so you can’t see it. Though it might take you several goes to get right, you should try your best to arrange your furniture so it sits around the wall. Try to create natural resting points for your eyes so they move towards the wall, and change things up if you feel they aren’t working.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">A feature wall is a tried and tested interior design trick that definitely creates an amazing space. If you are searching for the perfect addition to your room to really tie things together and make it into a cohesive space, you should consider creating a feature wall. Make it timeless, and it could even stay in place no matter how the rest of the room might change. What would your ideal feature wall look like, and how might you bring it to life?</div>A Beautiful Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12124979238033256194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4227096505466392290.post-61983234652862581372021-07-11T12:36:00.000+01:002021-07-14T18:37:42.913+01:003 Timeless Childrens’ Books That Will Be Enjoyed for Generations<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPOvYkinxWTjLJlnmyiQscxtMcG4E3bbBZO4n30nu9WuaqESHU4KGe4FSmO-2bnMIupugEpXoWm8b8mbajdeX4v8NNwB2M4QMfitEKtCbcu-U8aF6B4Q0mdCfCi5pzhFt4sEa2ld_EuD1k/s2048/nick-fewings-f2Bi-VBs71M-unsplash.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPOvYkinxWTjLJlnmyiQscxtMcG4E3bbBZO4n30nu9WuaqESHU4KGe4FSmO-2bnMIupugEpXoWm8b8mbajdeX4v8NNwB2M4QMfitEKtCbcu-U8aF6B4Q0mdCfCi5pzhFt4sEa2ld_EuD1k/s16000/nick-fewings-f2Bi-VBs71M-unsplash.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table>Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@jannerboy62?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Nick Fewings</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/s/photos/books?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Unsplash</a><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Some books for young readers have stood the test of time very well. Books can offer an escape from reality or be a <a href="https://www.kumon.co.uk/blog/the-benefits-of-developing-reading-skills-from-a-young-age/">valuable learning tool at a young age</a>, so it is vital to find literature that appeals to your children. Whether your child is already an avid reader or you are looking for a fun book to read that will keep both of you interested at bedtime, here are some classic books that children and adults can enjoy.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Charlie and the Chocolate Factory</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Perhaps the most famous of Roald Dahl’s diverse collection of children’s books, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is an essential read for any young bookworm. Get whisked away to the whimsical world of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, where five children get more than they bargained for after winning a golden ticket to the factory.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The brilliant storytelling of Dahl, accompanied by Quentin Blake’s iconic illustrations, makes this a compelling book for any young reader. The stories have had such a cultural impact that they have even inspired a range of children’s glasses. <a href="https://www.internationaleyewear.co.uk/love-your-eyes/childrens-eyewear-frames/">International Eye wear</a> has recently announced its’ wholesale eye-wear for kids range inspired by the classic Roald Dahl stories.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Swallows and Amazons</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This tale, written by Arthur Ransome in 1930, details the adventures of the Walker children on their summer holidays. The children embark on a swashbuckling journey as they sail their boat, Swallow, for a camping trip on a nearby island. They quickly find themselves embroiled in a battle with the Blackett children who sail in their dinghy the Amazon.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This wonderful story evokes feelings of childhood exploration while on holiday and is inspired by <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/cumbria/content/articles/2005/07/26/swallows_and_amazons_feature.shtml">Ransome’s own experiences in the Lake District</a>. The story is accompanied by the author’s own black and white illustrations and is a perfect summer read for children aged eight and above.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8dutb7n6DDK8VNFYlJOIumxpOWmmN4DDDyRsiE874nap6gUPt6W6QvZzzeD5Kh189ljNgxqTJSJaKz1mVkkgLag1l3KSg8UU8OACpO_n2-9X4sWBEAyfAu5f-yGHAqCYmd8ulE2GW7f5t/s2048/sven-brandsma-93s6ATWRwm0-unsplash.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8dutb7n6DDK8VNFYlJOIumxpOWmmN4DDDyRsiE874nap6gUPt6W6QvZzzeD5Kh189ljNgxqTJSJaKz1mVkkgLag1l3KSg8UU8OACpO_n2-9X4sWBEAyfAu5f-yGHAqCYmd8ulE2GW7f5t/s16000/sven-brandsma-93s6ATWRwm0-unsplash.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table>Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@seffen99?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Sven Brandsma</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com/s/photos/childrens-books?utm_source=unsplash&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=creditCopyText">Unsplash</a><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Eragon</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Eragon is a perfect foray into fantasy novels for younger readers. When the dragon hatches, his life is shattered as he finds himself on the run from the evil king.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The magical world, created by <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2014/11/10/the-education-of-a-best-selling-teenage-author/">Christopher Paolini when he was aged just 15</a>, provides a brilliant escape with a fantastical tale of self-discovery. This book is the first installment in a series of four that will have young readers hooked at every turn.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Honorable Mentions</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">These are just three suggestions for younger readers, and they are by no means the indisputable best books available for this age group. Other honorable mentions include the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, which offered an introduction to literature for an entire generation, or the His Dark Materials trilogy penned by Philip Pullman.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Many books, both new and old, can offer a springboard for the younger generation to dive into literature. Ultimately, the importance lies in finding the stories that your children will be most interested in and helping them to explore new possibilities and worlds through the medium of reading.</div>A Beautiful Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12124979238033256194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4227096505466392290.post-74471386030513992342021-05-27T09:00:00.001+01:002021-05-27T09:00:00.262+01:00The Night Owl Duvet Collection Review | The Fine Bedding Company <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCRWqwRl9uo3vByFz5a7AsbUp9jb30tRyTjeNHKHseWNLfIp45huaZKfX5ACN9PWHyED_j1nAAHGxFk3zqYUtG7l6QYNeMdG2JFRtlBtPNvklBqrFnVNdzgpEaP2GwzHfD8tI-vom8EaCJ/s2048/night+owl+bed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCRWqwRl9uo3vByFz5a7AsbUp9jb30tRyTjeNHKHseWNLfIp45huaZKfX5ACN9PWHyED_j1nAAHGxFk3zqYUtG7l6QYNeMdG2JFRtlBtPNvklBqrFnVNdzgpEaP2GwzHfD8tI-vom8EaCJ/s16000/night+owl+bed.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;">Today I'm reviewing a really cosy, stylish and affordable duvet from </span><a href="https://www.finebedding.co.uk/" style="text-align: justify;">The Fine Bedding Company</a><span style="text-align: justify;">* </span><span style="text-align: justify;">that you are definitely going to want to check out if you are looking for a fantastic new duvet to snuggle up in.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="https://www.finebedding.co.uk/collections/night-owl">The Night Owl*</a> range which I'm reviewing today is a coverless duvet meaning there is no fussing with trying to get a sheet on. Which for me, is an absolute winner because I hate the faff which comes with trying to get the sheet on correctly with a traditional duvet. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">The Night Owl range comes in three styles, Herringbone, Linen and Cotton waffle. I went for the cotton waffle style and I really like it. It is very simple yet stylish. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">The range also comes in a range of colours including: pink, blue and grey. I selected the grey, as its a very versastyle colour and compliments my yellow throw and cushions perfectly. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6J9tV0LrAjMAHKEjpduRKjxrQKBZpocGmiExqks9Olo1ihhNU613YY0el5nXmZ-g5-MyCKGzD_5Q1Mz4ohHqpQT_Hi3uaUZPUXfp0x8sVIaIYNJhx3BxwOjR6mD2n2CLvS0q1vjp__YKW/s2048/night+owl+bedding.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6J9tV0LrAjMAHKEjpduRKjxrQKBZpocGmiExqks9Olo1ihhNU613YY0el5nXmZ-g5-MyCKGzD_5Q1Mz4ohHqpQT_Hi3uaUZPUXfp0x8sVIaIYNJhx3BxwOjR6mD2n2CLvS0q1vjp__YKW/s16000/night+owl+bedding.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivXwY_iNCBDj1YWOw5r2mLCTqGpT0rkq230JdFURxvz_BtdAgH9InHb1vq_EwFox-dOY0GFkkhi43QTsaicemOa5lqV7WqRfDSViCfPaq2BP5RWYdfKlw1LCbg26E3SnT8PLQTLH_ELiJQ/s2048/night+owl+pillow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivXwY_iNCBDj1YWOw5r2mLCTqGpT0rkq230JdFURxvz_BtdAgH9InHb1vq_EwFox-dOY0GFkkhi43QTsaicemOa5lqV7WqRfDSViCfPaq2BP5RWYdfKlw1LCbg26E3SnT8PLQTLH_ELiJQ/s16000/night+owl+pillow.jpg" /></a></div><p style="text-align: justify;">The duvets come in two togs, either 10.5 tog which is really warm and cosy, perfect for a cold winter evening or 4.5 tog which would be perfect for those warmer summer evenings. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">Whether you have a single, double or king size bed, the duvets come in each size which is really good and there is even matching pillow cases, which come in a pair to finish the look off. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">Now with lockdown ending, you may be staying over friends or family houses more or spending time away camping or staying in a campervan. It was a little clickbaity, maybe, but that’s how Internet journalism worked. You wrote a piece about something, your editor stuck a controversial headline on it, and you got eyeballs. Eyeballs meant advertiser money, and advertiser money meant the website could pay their writers. Not much, obviously. Five hundred dollars was the most she’d ever gotten for a story, and that was a spon- con thing for a hotel chain. The stuff she’d cared about got much less— sometimes nothing. She got a hundred dollars for this one. She typed up the story as soon as the Lyft dropped her back at her apartment, the alcohol wearing off after a strong cup of coffee, leaving her buzzing and jittery. She wrote the whole thing in an hour and sent it to her editor— well, the woman she hoped would be her editor— at a website that specialized in confessional essays and gossip.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">“Thought you’d like this,” she wrote, and after she hit send, she took a long, hot shower and went to bed. She didn’t have high hopes for it— Jake was well known in Austin, but he was only starting to break out nationally, and country music was generally considered pretty niche. But the timing worked in her favor, and editors were clamoring for Me Too content, especially when it involved a famous (or even semifamous) man and salacious sexual details. In the morning, there was an email waiting in her inbox: “Loved this,” the editor wrote, “but I think we should publish anonymously. I spoke to our legal team and we can’t cover your liability. We’ll pay you two hundred for your trouble. Sound okay?” She said it would go live later that day. Cait was a little bummed that she wouldn’t get the byline, but she was still getting paid to be published, so she took herself for fancy coffee to celebrate. She sat in the café texting Alyssa and swapping stories with her about their night. Alyssa had ended up ditching the tech bro at Cedar Street and then gotten in a limo with a bunch of Israelis who were about to ship back to their home country and start their stints in the national army. “Those guys can really party,” Alyssa typed, along with a long string of emojis. “What happened to you?” she added. “You disappeared! *poof of smoke emoji*”</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Cait filled Alyssa in on the details of her evening and told her to look out for the article later that day. At two p.m., the piece went live under the headline “WORST. DATE. EVER.” The thumbnail was a photograph of Jake’s brooding face with a pair of devil horns Photoshopped on the top of his head. Cait clicked on the link with a fizz of nerves. The website wasn’t in the big leagues, but it was gaining some cultural traction, and she was hoping that the article could put her on the ground floor of the new Jezebel or Man Repeller. She skim- read it, making note of what the editor had changed and what she hadn’t. She thought it held up— it was funny and caustic and, yeah, maybe a little brutal, but the guy was a total asshole. He deserved to get it with both barrels. She read it again, sent it to Alyssa, put on her uniform, and went to work at the bar. When she checked her phone, after the bar was shut and the bottles had been married up and the back mirrors wiped as clean as she could get them, she realized that the piece had blown up.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It was what every writer wanted, right? As many eyes on the work as possible. But not in this way, not like this. The comment section was filled with his fans calling her worse than he had. A lot of them were women. There were men on there, too, telling her that she was a whore, that she deserved to be raped in order to be taught a lesson, that women like her were dirt, that women like her deserved to die. The word “skullfuck” was used in more ways than Cait had previously thought possible. She felt sick to her stomach. Who were these people, and why did they hate her so much? Okay, so maybe she’d played it up a little in the article, but everything she’d written was fundamentally true. He had choked her when they were having sex. She had been scared, though maybe not quite as scared as she’d made herself out to be. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Though that was only because she knew how these things usually played out. Jake hadn’t wanted to kill her or even hurt her. He’d just wanted to show her he could,</div><div style="text-align: justify;">because he got off on the power. He wasn’t exactly a rarity in that respect. Still, a wave of shame washed over her, hot and thick. She must have done something wrong for people to hate her like this. It must somehow be her fault. She was asking for it. She read that line over and over. She had pursued Jake, it was true. She’d known what she was doing when she was dancing in front of him, had known the kind of promises she was making with her body. She had gone home with him willingly, had sex with him without asking any questions. Did she really have a right to complain just because his version of pleasure was different from her own?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Hadn’t she always known something like this would happen to her one day? Wasn’t she lucky that it wasn’t worse? There was an email from the editor waiting in her inbox. The subject line was “Holy Shit.” “Your story has had more clicks in the past eight hours than anything we’ve published before!” And a text from Alyssa. “No one knows you wrote that piece, right? You need to keep it that way, because people are going CRAZY.” Cait pulled a glass off the stack, poured herself a few fingers of bourbon, sank it in a few swift swallows. Poured herself another. She’d have to write it off as wastage so JB wouldn’t get pissy when he did the stock take. She felt the liquor slide down into her stomach, warming her fingers and toes, loosening the knot at the base of her throat. Alyssa was right: she was lucky no one knew she was the one who’d written that article. Because right now, it was looking like a huge mistake.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Does this chapter spark your interest in Don't Turn Around? This book was kindly sent to me Hodder and Stoughton*. If you are looking for an addictive new thriller to read then look no further!</p><p></p><p><span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><b>What Is Watch Her Fall About:</b></p><div style="text-align: justify;">Swan Lake is divided into the black acts and the white acts. The Prince is on stage for most of the ballet, but it's the swans audiences flock to see. In early productions, Odette and Odile were performed by two different dancers. These days, it is usual for the same dancer to play both roles. Because of the faultless ballet technique required to master the steps, and the emotional range needed to perform both the virginal Odette and the dark, seductive Odile, this challenging dual role is one of the most coveted in all ballet. Dancers would kill for the part.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Ava Kirilova has reached the very top of her profession. After years and years of hard graft, pain and sacrifice as part of the London Russian Ballet Company, allowing nothing else to distract her, she is finally the poster girl for Swan Lake. Even Mr K - her father, and the intense, terrifying director of the company - can find no fault. Ava has pushed herself ahead of countless other talented, hardworking girls, and they are all watching her now.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">But there is someone who really wants to see Ava fall . . .</div><p style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I Liked About Watch Her Fall:</b></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I really loved the concept of this book. I have never read a thriller based on ballet before, which made this book really interesting and stand out from the countless other thrillers I've read.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I absolutely loved the twist in this book. It was so shocking and I definitely did not see it coming. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">If you are looking for a well-written and engaging thriller to read in 2021, then I reckon this is definitely one you are going to want to check out. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I Did Not Like About Watch Her Fall:</b></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I really did enjoy this book. The only issue I had was at the start the structure takes some time to get used to. It doesn't really make sense at the beginning. However, as I've read a lot of thrillers who have had a similar plot I could guess where the story was going. If you haven't read loads of thrillers, I'm sure you will really enjoy this one. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><b>Who Do I recommend This Book To?</b></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I recommend this book to everyone who loves domestic/ psychological thrillers which centre on revenge stories. Although, if you have not read a lot of thrillers I think you'll love this one!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Who Do I Recommend The Hidden Hours to:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I recommend this book to anyone who loves thrillers but especially people who are new to the genre. You may not be considered ‘high risk’</b></div></b><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Despite the challenges, most people with mental health conditions are not considered ‘high risk’ and are able to secure the life insurance they need at a price they can afford.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Life insurance providers assess risk based on how likely you are to make a claim, so if you have mild depression and/or anxiety that is well-managed and has been stable for many years, then it’s unlikely to result in hiked premiums or a declination of your application.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you have suffered a slightly more serious mental health condition and/or you have previously self-harmed, <a href="http://www.abeautifulchaos.co.uk/2017/10/suicide-its-not-just-mans-problem.html">attempted suicide</a> or been hospitalised then you may be charged a more expensive premium (depending on when this event took place).</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Also, every insurer has a different underwriting process (how they measure risk), and factors that may be considered high risk with one insurer, may not be considered high risk with another insurer - which is why it’s important to approach multiple insurers for multiple quotes.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-weight: bold; text-align: justify;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLUj_M8luy9VcigyLCoVkSD4dpdD9o4LBjYFXm-TssIBqkkApCTi5Y2mL1a7PZ75gav6n6RkAm75b7puHcorgM7jNaNxBXTsNnD8x8aaDhotD4zd4lscvCI4jhyphenhyphenadxh0mp3fdIN0xzqa2j/s2048/pexels-marc-mueller-380769+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1150" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLUj_M8luy9VcigyLCoVkSD4dpdD9o4LBjYFXm-TssIBqkkApCTi5Y2mL1a7PZ75gav6n6RkAm75b7puHcorgM7jNaNxBXTsNnD8x8aaDhotD4zd4lscvCI4jhyphenhyphenadxh0mp3fdIN0xzqa2j/s16000/pexels-marc-mueller-380769+%25281%2529.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-weight: 700;"><br /></span></div><div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="font-weight: bold; text-align: justify;"><b>2. Visit a doctor or mental health professional beforehand</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Hopefully, you’re already receiving the right treatment and/or medication to help you feel better and manage your symptoms. </div><div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you haven’t visited a doctor or mental health professional recently, it may be sensible to do this (before applying for life insurance) so that they can assess your current well-being and ensure that your treatment and/or medication is the most up to date and working as it should for you.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Whilst this isn’t compulsory prior to making a life insurance application, it means you’ll be much better prepared to provide the insurer with an up to date and accurate record of your condition.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Why is this necessary?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Firstly, it will ensure that your policy covers your specific circumstances and secondly, if your condition is well-managed, you’ll have a higher chance of securing an affordable premium compared to someone who hasn’t received help for their mental health.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><b><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>3. Be prepared to answer questions (but don’t worry, these aren’t to judge you)</b></div></b><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Every life insurance applicant is asked a standard set of questions regarding their personal circumstances (e.g. age, smoking status, weight etc) to determine the level of risk they may pose to the insurer and to calculate their premiums.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Someone with a mental health condition may need to provide a little more information specific to their condition.</div></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: justify;">The insurer may ask for example, when you were diagnosed, the severity of your symptoms, what treatment you’re receiving and how often you experience the symptoms.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It may be difficult to answer these sensitive questions, particularly to a stranger over the phone, however the insurer isn’t there to judge you or your circumstances – it’s just really important that they get this information correct and arrange the right policy for you.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><b><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>4. Honesty is the best policy – don’t risk your investment</b></div></b><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Whether your mental health condition is diagnosed or not, you may be unsure if it’s necessary to tell the insurer. Well, if the insurer asks if you have any diagnosed pre-existing medical conditions, which includes mental health conditions, then you must tell them.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you decide not to disclose that you have a mental health condition, in the hope for a cheaper premium, then you could risk a denied pay-out (which would be devastating for your family).</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This is because when you pass-away, the insurer has the right to check your medical records and/or investigate the cause of death, and they’d be able to discover a non-disclosure at this time.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">That’s why it’s always best to be as honest as possible when applying for life insurance.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-weight: 700;"><br /></span></div><span style="font-weight: bold;"><div style="text-align: justify;">5. Save time and money by comparing multiple quotes</div></span><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The life insurance industry has changed significantly over the years, allowing people from all backgrounds secure the financial protection that they need.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">However, some insurers aren’t so accommodating even these days, and may quote you a higher premium based on the fact you have a mental health condition rather than assessing your application on an individual basis.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">So how can you identify which is the right insurer for you?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, you can do this by shopping around and comparing quotes from as many insurers as possible. And to save time, you could use a specialist life insurance broker to carry out the search on your behalf.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Unlike a comparison site, a life insurance broker is able to match you with an insurer that is most likely to accept your application and provide you with the best possible premium.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It’s sensible to use an<a href="https://register.fca.org.uk/s/"> FCA registered broker</a> that is free to use, such as Reassured based in the UK.</div></div><br />A Beautiful Chaoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12124979238033256194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4227096505466392290.post-42907619861451567272020-10-02T09:00:00.003+01:002020-10-02T09:00:02.152+01:00She Lies Close By Sharon Doering | Book Review <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXqNWBjXXVKVEPbzYnzZHDkYuy13eflt3UZOHA9CbLEUR_gX-zjoOX6BqPY-IvL_7gsPVYW8lkVA5sOVVbXEFNxL6n2dUYjLNp-gtqZV-_lYlIaBSFsQuoEPl6yR9sNc1wcFF1LZTwFw7B/s2048/she+lies+close+book+review.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1404" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXqNWBjXXVKVEPbzYnzZHDkYuy13eflt3UZOHA9CbLEUR_gX-zjoOX6BqPY-IvL_7gsPVYW8lkVA5sOVVbXEFNxL6n2dUYjLNp-gtqZV-_lYlIaBSFsQuoEPl6yR9sNc1wcFF1LZTwFw7B/s16000/she+lies+close+book+review.jpg" /></a></div><p style="text-align: justify;">Today I'm reviewing and taking part in the blog tour for She Lies Close by Sharon Doering which was kindly sent to me by Titan Books*. With whispered neighbourhood gossip and increasingly sleepless nights, Grace develops a fierce obsession with Leland.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Could she really be living next door to a child-kidnapper? Or worse a murderer?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I liked about She Lies Close?</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">She Lies Close is a really interesting and unique thriller. I really loved the writing style. Right from the start I was engaged in the story and it was a very easy book to read. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This book really plays into the unreliable narrator trope, so if you love that trope I am sure you will love this book.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It was a really fun, quick read. I did however, find the main character quite annoying but that's just personal preference and I'm sure lots of other people will love her. Also, there were a couple of references to OCD in the book which were inaccurate and as someone who has had OCD I found a little bit offensive. But other than that, it was an enjoyable read. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Who do I recommend She Lies Close to?</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun, well written and easy to read thriller, whether you are new to the genre or not.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I would give trigger warnings though for murder, child abuse and violence. I was so excited to read this book after reading The Family last year and loving it, I couldn't wait to read this one and it definitely didn't disappoint! </p><span></span><span><a name='more'></a></span><p style="text-align: justify;"><b>What is The Stolen Sisters About?</b></p><div style="text-align: justify;">Sisterhood binds them. Trauma defines them. Will secrets tear them apart?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Leah’s perfect marriage isn’t what it seems but the biggest lie of all is that she’s learned to live with what happened all those years ago.Marie drinks a bit too much to help her forget. And Carly has never forgiven herself for not keeping them safe.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Twenty years ago The Sinclair Sisters were taken. But what came after their return was far worse. Can a family ever recover, especially when not everyone is telling the truth…?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I loved about The Stolen Sisters? </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This book really did have me hooked from the start. The short chapters made this book so engaging and easy to read. It definitely was a page turner. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">One of the main things I loved about this book was the OCD representation. As someone who has experienced OCD I think the rep was incredibly accurate and did not fall into common stereotypes that other books often do. It was really nice to read some well done mental health rep in a thriller, something which you don't see all that often.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The plot was really interesting and different. I really felt for the characters, especially Leah who I had a deeper connection to. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><br /></b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>What I did not love about The Stolen Sisters?</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Overall, this book was fantastic. There was only one thing I didn't love and that was the use of quite a common thriller trope towards the end. But I can't go into too many details as that would be giving away spoilers. But on the whole, it was a fantastic domestic psychological thriller full of suspense. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4Ak90JD9TwovlLW8P5hPhv5NqCN08XixWtW64WIPLFkBt6NuMHq4QdZ8RATUhG96MIyOO9rammGgXdPu6U7RJq32B0KowEzdHc04emfpTmZLm9FE-dlf4BcUhXjIulpRBfJ3pOg86T3Bw/s2048/the+stolen+sisters+book+review.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4Ak90JD9TwovlLW8P5hPhv5NqCN08XixWtW64WIPLFkBt6NuMHq4QdZ8RATUhG96MIyOO9rammGgXdPu6U7RJq32B0KowEzdHc04emfpTmZLm9FE-dlf4BcUhXjIulpRBfJ3pOg86T3Bw/s16000/the+stolen+sisters+book+review.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Who do I recommend The Stolen Sisters to?</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I recommend this book to everyone! I recommend this to people who have just discovered psychological thrillers or who are long standing fans of the genre. This is a wonderfully suspenseful thriller and I can't recommend it enough.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I would just give trigger warnings for violence, abduction, OCD, gas lighting and suicide. If those are topics you may find difficult to read maybe give this one a miss.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Overall Thoughts </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The Stolen Sisters is a fantastic psychological thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat till the very end. I can't wait to read more of Louise Jensen's other books, she is fast becoming a new favourite thriller author of mine. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The Stolen Sisters comes out on the <b>1st October </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Buy a copy <a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stolen-Sisters-Louise-Jensen-ebook/dp/B07YBZC97V/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2OMNW0K65PPJR&dchild=1&keywords=the+stolen+sisters+louise+jensen&qid=1600502665&sprefix=the+stolen+soste%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-2">HERE</a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Thanks for reading, as always X</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*This book has been sent to me for free. It is definitely more of a murder mystery than a really exciting and action packed thriller though. </p><p>One of my favourite things about this book was the fact that the characters were older. I really do like reading older characters in books but its something that you don't see that often.</p><p>I also really liked how British this book was. There were a lot of fun British references that made this book super enjoyable to read. </p><p>For a debut novel, I think the writing was really good and it will be interesting to see where this series goes in the future.</p><p><b>What I did not like about The Thursday Murder Club:</b></p><p>I did really enjoy this book, however, I went in thinking it was more of a thriller than a murder mystery which it wasn't. So my expectations were slightly off, thus, I didn't really like this book as much as if I went in thinking it was a cosy murder mystery with a lot of dialogue rather than action.</p><p>However, that is not the books fault and more of a reflection of my lack of research but it is something to be aware of if you think this is going to be an action packed thriller.</p><p><b>Who do I recommend The Thursday Murder Club to:</b></p><p>I recommend this book to people who love cosy murder mystery books and those who like books who feature older characters rather than young protagonists. I also think if you'll British you will definitely be able to relate and chuckle to some of the references in this book.</p><p><b>Overall thoughts:</b></p><p>Overall, this is a really fun and enjoyable cosy murder mystery. If you are on the look out for a well written, slow burn mystery than you might be interested in the book I'm reviewing today, You don't Know Me by Sara Foster, as part of the blog tour with Legend Press*. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What if You Don't Know Me about:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Lizzie Burdett was eighteen when she vanished. Noah Carruso has never forgotten her: she was his first crush; his unrequited love. She was also his brother's girlfriend.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tom Carruso hasn't been home in over a decade. He left soon after Lizzie disappeared, under a darkening cloud of suspicion. Now he's coming home for the inquest into Lizzie's death, intent on telling his side of the story for the first time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As the inquest looms, Noah meets Alice Pryce while on holiday in Thailand. They fall in love fast and hard, but Noah can t bear to tell Alice his deepest fears. And Alice is equally stricken, for she carries a terrible secret of her own.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's guarding a dark secret, but so is she.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What I liked about You Don't Know Me:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a really interesting, well written family drama with a super engaging mystery element. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You Don't Know Me included two of my favourite things in books. It included a podcast element which I love. I would have loved to listen to an audio book of this book to really experience that more. But it also included a portion which was set in court. Something, which I also love to read.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the best things about this book has to be the ending. I did not see it coming. It was definitely a shock. There was also lots of build up and action at the end, which I also loved. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0hSUba21FaGcMHCnWVXGHeq_qUixTPrQbkjzY8DNDDQqDOBKfjkW2x4EGfSciIz0_lOB0RvoUhOqZqHPSmrQYFuQDkXGwj-vy2BpZpnZERnA_xccjHWFrEgMG0FaZ2_rdaZEg_dHdFHnV/s1600/you+don%2527t+know+me+blog+tour.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0hSUba21FaGcMHCnWVXGHeq_qUixTPrQbkjzY8DNDDQqDOBKfjkW2x4EGfSciIz0_lOB0RvoUhOqZqHPSmrQYFuQDkXGwj-vy2BpZpnZERnA_xccjHWFrEgMG0FaZ2_rdaZEg_dHdFHnV/s1600/you+don%2527t+know+me+blog+tour.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What I did not like about You Don't Know Me:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The only real issue I had with this book, was that it started off quite slow. Some people love a slow start to a book to really get to know the characters. Personally, I prefer books which are more fast paced. But apart from that I really did enjoy this book.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Who do I recommend You Don't Know Me to:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I recommend this book to everyone who loves family dramas which have a mystery element. I personally wouldn't say this is a thriller, so if you are more used to reading dramas and want something with a mystery twist, I think you'll enjoy this one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are, however, trigger warnings for suicide, violence and murder so just keep that in mind if you want to give this book a read.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Overall thoughts:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I did really enjoy this book. I thought it was really well written and I loved the mystery element. I just wish the pace picked up a bit sooner in the book.</div>

Today I'm taking part in the blog tour with HQ Books* for a really interesting and super shocking domestic thriller, The Wives by Tarryn Fisher. If that seems like something you would enjoy to read, then carry on reading. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What is The Wives about:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, you see your husband only one day a week. Thursday. But you don’t care, you love him that much. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And then, one day it all changes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You thought you were fine with this, with only having a fraction of a husband. But you can’t help yourself, you start to dig. You begin tracking them down, the other days… Who is Monday and why does she have bruises on her arms? Is she being abused? By who? Her husband? Your husband?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What else is he keeping from you? And who is he, really?</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What I liked about The Wives:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really enjoyed The Wives. I thought it was a really entertaining and addictive domestic thriller. It was really engaging and I could just not put it down. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also really enjoyed the writing style. It was really simple and easy to read which made the reading experience all that much better. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was super fast paced and there was so much action, which I loved. In the past I have struggled with domestic thrillers because they lack the action which I love, but this one did not disappoint on that front. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What did I not like about The Wives:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I did really enjoy this book. However, the one main issue I had with this thriller was the ending. I can't go into too much detail without giving spoilers. But personally I would have preferred for it to have been ended slightly differently but that's just personal preference. Apart from that, I really did enjoy this thriller. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Who do I recommend The Wives too:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, well written domestic thriller. I also recommend it to people who mainly read adult contemporary books but wan't to read more thrillers, I think this book is a great stepping stone between the two genres.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would add, however, there are trigger warnings for miscarriage and domestic abuse. If that is something which you are not comfortable reading, maybe give this one a miss.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Overall thoughts:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I really enjoyed this domestic thriller. I loved the writing style and the amount of action it had, I just wish it had a different ending. </div>

<b>What is The First Lie about: </b></div>
<br /><div style="text-align: justify;">
When Paul Reeve comes home to find his wife in the bathroom, bloodied and shaking, his survival instinct kicks in.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Alice never meant to kill the intruder. She was at home, alone, and terrified. She doesn't deserve to be blamed for it. Covering up the murder is their only option.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But the crime eats away at the couple and soon they can't trust anyone - even one another...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What did I like about The First Lie:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really enjoyed The First Lie. I love thrillers which are fast paced with short chapters and this book definitely fits into that category. I found it really engaging and it had me hooked till the very end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Even though I could kind of see where the story was going, I did not see the ending coming. It definitely was a shock.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also really liked the writing style. It was simple and easy to follow, which made the whole book more engaging and a really fun reading experience. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What did I not like about The First Lie:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I really enjoyed this thriller and I highly recommend it. The only issue I had with this book was that the story line could be considered a little bit far fetched and silly, so in places the actions of some of the characters were questionable. However, this doesn't really bother me too much because I like engaging thrillers even if the plot could be considered a bit silly. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Who would I recommend The First Lie to:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would recommend this thriller to everyone. I think if you haven't read a lot of thrillers, I think you'll really enjoy this one. It reminded me a lot 'My lovely wife by Samantha Downing', so if you like that thriller you might like this one too.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would just add, there are trigger warnings for suicide, murder and violence, so if that is something you find difficult to read, maybe give this one a miss.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Overall thoughts:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I gave this book four stars. I really enjoyed it and I highly recommend it, if you are on the look out for a well written domestic thriller.</div>

If you are on the hunt for a great domestic thriller to read this summer, then you are going to want to carry on reading, as today I'm taking part in the blog tour for The Babysitter by Phoebe Morgan. <b>What is The Babysitter About? </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On the hottest day of the year, Caroline Harvey is found dead in Suffolk. Her body is left draped over a cot – but the baby she was looking after is missing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hundreds of miles away, Siobhan Dillon is on a luxurious family holiday in France when her husband, Callum, is arrested by French police on suspicion of murder.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As Siobhan’s perfect family is torn apart by the media in the nation’s frantic search for the missing baby, she desperately tries to piece together how Callum knew Caroline.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What happened that night? Was Caroline as innocent as she seemed – or was she hiding a secret of her own?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-weight: 700;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What I liked about The Babysitter? </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was a really interesting domestic thriller. I really enjoyed the writing style, I thought it was very engaging and it kept me wanting to read till the end to find out what happened. It definitely had me hooked. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I particularly liked the setting of this book. Given that it partly takes place on holiday in France and the events in the book occur on the hottest day of the year, during a heat wave, I think this would be the perfect domestic thriller to enjoy while relaxing on a summer holiday.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you like domestic thrillers, I think you'll really enjoy this one. I did see the ending coming, but that did not annoy me at all, but if you are new to domestic thrillers I don't think you'll be able to guess. I highly recommend this really well written domestic thriller.</div>

<b>What did I not like about The Babysitter?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really enjoyed this book. As I've already said, I did see the ending coming which may be disappointing to some but it rarely annoys me. I do think the ending was slightly longer than it needed to be. But honestly, apart from that it was a fun, quick to read domestic thriller which would be perfect for the summer time. </div>

I recommend The Babysitter to everyone. I think this is a perfect domestic thriller for people who are new to the genre. </div>

<b>What is His And Hers about? </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If there are two sides to every story, someone is always lying…</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jack: Three words to describe my wife: Beautiful. Ambitious. Unforgiving.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anna: I only need one word to describe my husband: Liar.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When a woman is murdered in Blackdown village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Anna’s ex-husband, DCI Jack Harper, is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Someone is lying, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What did I like about His and Hers?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really enjoyed His and Hers. I particularly liked the writing style. I found it very easy to read and very engaging. It was definitely a page turner, as it had me gripped till the very end. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would definitely say that it started of as a more slow burn thriller, but as the story went along the pace increased. As new story lines were added it became more complex but at no point was it too hard to follow or to understand what was going on.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is a really dark thriller, with a lot of potentially triggering subject matter, but this isn't something I had an issue with. If you love your dark thrillers, like me, I think you'll really this one. I would say this has to be one of my favourite domestic thrillers I have read this year so far.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>What did I not like about His and Hers? </b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I honestly, didn't have any issues with this book. Possibly, things could have got going a little bit quicker at the start, but it didn't really bug me too much as I liked how the atmosphere built.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Who did I recommend His and Hers to?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

I recommend His and Hers to everyone, particularly people who like domestic thrillers. I think this thriller would be enjoyed by those new to the genre but also those who have read quite a few domestic thrillers, like myself.</div>

I would add though, potential trigger warnings for rape, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, suicide and animal abuse. It contains quite a lot of dark subject matter which may not be for everyone. </div>
