Dark Corners By Darren O'Sullivan | Book Review

If you are on the hunt for a fast paced engaging thriller, then I couldn't recommend Dark Corners by Darren O'Sullivan enough. Today I'm taking part in the blog tour for this super exciting psychological thriller, thanks to HQ books* for sending over a copy! Let's jump into the review!

What is Dark Corners about:

You thought you’d escaped your past

It’s been twenty years since Neve’s best friend Chloe went missing. Neve has never recovered and promised herself she’d never go back to that place.
But secrets can come back to haunt you

When Neve receives news that her first boyfriend Jamie has gone missing, she’s forced to return. Jamie has vanished without a trace in a disappearance that echoes the events of all those years ago. Somebody is watching and will stop at nothing until the truth about what took place that night is revealed

What I liked about Dark Corners:

I thought this was a really fun, dark, engaging thriller that definitely kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end. It was very fast paced, definitely a page turner.

This book featured one of my favourite tropes in thrillers. I love the trope of someone returning to their small home town village to solve a mystery. If you like this trope too, I'm sure you will love this book.

I really enjoyed the writing style. I liked the dual perspectives and how it slowly counted down to the big event at the end. It made me really not want to put the book down at all.

This is the second Darren O'Sullivan book I've read, both of which I have really enjoyed. He is definitely becoming one of my favourite thriller authors. I really think his books are underrated!

What did I not like about Dark Corners:

Honestly, I don't really have a bad word to say about this book. Perhaps if you have read a lot of thriller books, you won't find this one very shocking but I would still highly recommend it, as I have read my fair share of thrillers and still really enjoyed this one.

Who would I recommend Dark Corners to:

I would recommend Dark Corners to all thriller book lovers but particularly newbies to the genre as I think this would be a great place to start. Its a perfect example of a well written, fast paced, action packed psychological thriller that I'm sure will make you wanting more.

Final thoughts

Overall, I gave this book four stars. I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a fast paced, dark psychological thriller, I can't recommend this one more.

Dark corners comes out on the 2nd April.
