IWOOT Christmas Jumper Review

Is it too early to mention the C word? I don't think so! Christmas is just around the corner. It may be too early to start the Christmas shopping just yet but what it is definitely not too early for is to get yourself organised when it comes to buying this years Christmas jumper.

Whether you need a Christmas jumper for a work do or you just love to snuggle up in them on the big day, you want to make sure you get yourself organised now so you have so lots of choice and selection because as the big day draws nearer, you're options will inevitably run out.

So when IWOOT* got in touch with me asking if I wanted to review some of the jumpers from their Christmas selection, I jumped at the chance. If there is one thing I love about Christmas it's the naff novelty knit.

The Retreat By Sherri Smith | Book Review

The wonderful people over at Titan Books sent me a copy of The Retreat by Sherri Smith* to review for blog tour and I'm SO glad they did because I thoroughly enjoyed myself while reading this one.

If you love psychological thrillers, with a cast of unlikable characters or thrillers that take unexpected twists and turns you just don't see coming, then I think you'll really going to love The Retreat.

I really recommend this book, if you love a good, pacey psychological thriller. I ended up giving this one four stars. I think it was very well written, with a lot of unexpected plot twists and I think it would make a perfect beach read.

Is The Workplace Making Your Mental Health Worse?

As someone who struggles with their mental health and has done for a number of years, the workplace can be a daunting place to be, especially if its not aiding my mental wellbeing. Going into the workplace can be scary when you struggle with your mental health. You don't know whether that employer is going to effectively make your mental health worse or better.

A supportive, open and understanding work environment is what I look for when I'm applying for jobs. I know I would rather, work somewhere, where my colleagues understand my mental illness and are willing to support me when I am struggling over somewhere, which paid well but had a really negative impact on my mental health while I was there.

You could be raking in the cash every month but ultimately if you are not happy and comfortable in your job, your mental health will pay the price. As a Millennial I think I am now part of the generation who are favoring positive and supportive workplaces over the well-paying but 'depressing' work environments of before, and I know I am not alone.

My Mental Health Tool Kit

As someone who has struggled with their mental health for a number of years, it has given me plenty of opportunity to try and test different methods, coping strategies and products, to see what has made living with a mental illness that little bit easier.

I have tried and tested lots of different things, from mindfulness to mediation and medication to counselling, with varying levels of success. However, this constant process of trying and testing different methods has lead me to develop a 'mental health tool kit' which is essentially a collection of things which personally help me when I'm going through a rough patch with my mental health.

Today, I thought I would take you through, the different strategies and items, that help me and perhaps will give you some ideas of what could potentially help you too.
