8 Simple Ways To Improve Your Mental Health Today

wellbeing mental health young people support advice bloggers help

Self-care is so important. As someone who is very anxious a lot of the time and worries about a lot of things which in hindsight never need to be worried about to begin with, self-care is vitally important to me. However, although I understand the importance of it this doesn't necessarily mean that I always practice it. I am the worst for healthy eating, taking breaks and drinking lots of water. Although I do not underestimate the importance of these things; don't expect me to give that advice if I can't keep to it myself.

However, here are eight things which I either do or am trying to do more to improve my mental health and wellbeing. Remember you don't have to have a mental illness to need to do these things, everyone should be looking after their mental health, as a way reducing the risk of you suffering mental health struggles in the future. I hope you find these tips useful!

35 Ways To Get Outdoors More This Summer

35 Ways To Get Outdoors More This Summer EventBrite

I have a three month summer holiday planned ahead of me. This is due to me not carrying on with the course I am currently doing at college and starting again in September, doing A levels. Although this may sound great, I will be doing three years at college, but I am pretty chilled with that, it just gives me more time to get my life together.

Although this long summer break sounds fab, I can see myself curled up indoors, not going out. This is not what I want to happen. For once I want to make the most of the outdoors, enjoying experiences not spending my time indoors watching more and more box sets and DVDs

With this long summer ahead of me, I need to stay busy, so I thought I would share with you 35 ways you can get out more this summer (All of which I am hoping to do myself), all in aid of supporting Eventbrite's GOMO (Going Out More Often) project. Eventbrite specializes in event planning and has the largest self-service ticketing platform in the world that helps people find and plan both free and ticketed events. They thought it would be a great idea for me to share how to make the most out of the rest of your 2016, so enjoy!

50 Reasons Why Men Should Be Feminists

50 Reasons Why Men Should Be Feminists list feminism men Heforshe

At the start of this month, I shared with you 50 reasons why I am a feminist and you guys seemed to really enjoy it but most importantly agree with the points I was making. In my quest to do more posts about feminism on my blog, today I thought I would share with you something very similar to what I did in my last post about feminism. Today, I want to tell it from a man's perspective. Obviously, I am a woman! I am a white, middle-class, straight woman so my perception and experience with feminism are very different to that of a black, trans feminist or even a male who identifies himself as a feminist.

Feminism isn't just for women! Here are 50 reasons, why not! Enjoy!

34 Toys We All Had As Kids

34 Toys We All Had As Kids relateable lists buzzfeed

I wish I could be a kid again. No worries, no deadlines, no cares in the world. You come home from school, have no commitments, so what do you do? Play with your toys of course! I had a lot of toys as a kid, most of which have been thrown out now, but the memories I still hold close to my heart. As a kid who grew up in the early 2000s, I didn't have the internet like it is today. I wasn't given a phone and told to entertain myself for hours on end. I was given toys that made me use my own imagination.

When I was contacted by Invaluable.com, an online marketplace that helps to connect people around the world with the items they love, got in touch he suggested that I should share with you some of my favourite, nostalgic items from my childhood. You guys know that I did a post a couple of months back, sharing 18 Things Kids From The Noughties Will Remember , However, I appreciate that not everyone who reads my blog grew up during that time. So I thought today, I would share will you 34 toys that we all probably had growing up as kids, no matter what decade we grew up in! I hope it makes you feel very nostalgic.

30 Things You Will Understand If You Went To a British Secondary School

30 Things You Will Understand If You Went To a British Secondary School buzzfeed lists funny realateable bloggers

School...the best days of your life. Well, can't say I agree with that 100% but nonetheless they were pretty fun. My best friend and I love chatting about school and I think we came to the unanimous decision that year 10 was the best year. In year 10, you start your GCSE subjects, that you choose, you have a couple of exams to worry about, but nothing too overwhelming. You haven't got the stress of year 11 but at the same time, you are not bottom, of the pack, making all those cringe-worthy mistakes, which you do in year 7 and 8.

Anyway, I am rambling now! Basically, whatever you think about your experience at school, whether it was the best five years of your life or you loathed every second of it, there is something that we can all agree on- there were just some things that no matter what school you went to, up and down the country, were the same! Here are 30 things you will understand if you went to a British secondary school, enjoy!

Bullying 101

Bullying 101 how to deal with bullies help advice support lifestyle blogger UK

I had never been bullied before in my life. Throughout infant, primary and secondary school, I always had friends. Admittedly a small group of friends but friends nonetheless. I always felt wanted, included and liked. I took this for granted. I reached 17 and thought that I would never be bullied, how I was so wrong.

I am very naive to the world of bullying. When you think of bullying you think of name calling, teasing or physical acts of violence. Yes, these are all types of bullying. All very serious and upsetting types of bullying. But as you get older, bullying can often manifest itself in different ways- something I wasn't aware of. That was until it happened to me.

Bullying includes any kind of behaviour (physical, emotional etc.) that belittles you in any way. Bullying can make you segregated, isolated, alone, vulnerable, scared or uncomfortable. Bullying doesn't just have to involve name calling or punching, kicking etc. Bullying can be simple as making you feel uncomfortable or excluded from a group of people. Purposely leaving you out or intimidating you.

Here Comes The Sun | Outfit Snippet

Here Comes The Sun | Outfit Snippet topshop yellow rain mac Uk

I can't remember the last outfit/ fashion post I did, it must have been last summer! And for someone who has 'fashion' in their blog name- that is pretty abysmal. The reason I don't do a lot of fashion posts anymore is because I hate the brick wall in my garden, I am too scared to go anyway else and I am a one man band, so I don't have anyone to help me with my photos...ohhh #Bloggerproblems However, last week I made an exception!

My new baby arrived and by that I mean this stunning coat from Boohoo. I have always wanted a yellow rain mac, I just think they look amazing and whenever I see someone else wearing one I drool in envy. So this summer, I made it my aim to buy my own. However, call me frugal but I am not paying £55 for a rain coat from Topshop. No way, not on this earth! (Okay, yes I nearly gave in and bought one from Topshop while I was waiting for this one to come back in stock in my size) but I didn't because I managed to get this one if you are going to try and buy it- you better be quick because they are flying off the virtual shelves!

Hope you enjoy this little outfit snippet- something bright and cheerful! I also included a couple of photos I have taken this year so far of spring flowers, to be frank, I haven't had time to go out much, so I haven't really had the chance to take many photos!

50 Reasons Why I Am A Feminist

50 Reasons Why I Am A Feminist feminism lifestyle blogger UK

I have always wanted to do posts about feminism on my blog. The amount of times I have asked on Twitter and you guys have said yes, but I still haven't done any. To be really honest with you guys I am a little bit scared. It's a touchy subject. People have a lot of strong opinions about it.

Now I am not one to be scared about what people think. I am happy to share my opinions, get constructive criticism or have healthy discussions but what I am scared of is getting things wrong. It can be quite a complicated topic, with lots of big words and history. I definitely don't know everything about the topic and therefore, don't want to misinform you guys.

With that in mind, if I do say anything wrong please do correct me, but don't be too mean! Today I thought I would start my voyage into feminism blog posts by starting off with something nice and simple; 50 reasons why I am a feminist! Enjoy!

I love a spring clean! Well If I am honest I actually never have time to do any cleaning in the spring break because naturally of the time of year in education, all of us who are still caught within it are busy revising or frantically trying to finish essays and coursework. However, if you do have some time over the spring break, then giving your blog a bit of a tidy up sounds a good idea to me!
