Please, tell me it's not just me that is getting confused with all the different years in the titles of people's blog posts. One minute it is 2016 then it is 2015- I can't keep up, we seem to be jumping back and forth like time travellers! Anyway, for my second post of the year, I thought I would reflect back on all the beauty products I have loved during 2015. I remember watching these on Youtube back in the day, hoping that I could do that one day and HERE I AM! I only properly started getting into makeup this year, but it is safe to say I am hooked and I am definitely looking forward to trying more makeup and beauty products throughout 2016!
FAVOURITE FOUNDATION:
A couple of days before my year 11 prom I bought this foundation in one shade too dark for me. Thankfully I realised this and rushed to boots to pick up the shade lighter. I have just repurchased this foundation as well, so it is safe to safe it's here to stay. After the mini prom fiasco, I got the shade 010 light porcelain. This is the only foundation I have truly found to actually match my very pale snow white skin. Being the first foundation I ever bought, this is going to have a sentimental place in my heart for hopefully years to come.
FAVOURITE POWDER:
The Rimmel Stay Matte powder in transparent like the Rimmel foundation is going to be a staple in my makeup bag for years to come. I have actually hit pan on this one, so I was nearly close to repurchasing it the other day but because I have a couple of other powders on the go I refrained. This powder also matches my skin tone very well and actually does what it says on the tin for one, leaves my skin matte!
FAVOURITE BLUSH:
I picked up the Barry M blush in terracotta in the summer and I have loved it ever since. Admittedly it is more of an autumn/ winter colour but I could definitely see myself wearing it all year around. I think this blush suits a vast array of different skin tones, in particular, pale skin like mine. I highly recommend picking this up, if you are in the market for a new blush.
FAVOURITE MASCARA:
Although, this is a free sample that came with ELLE magazine at the start of the year, it is still going strong. I love to wear it on special occasions, to ensure it lasts. The roller lash by benefit really does add length to your lashes and a bit of definition. It is definitely a high impact mascara, that is very eye catching ( ah, see what I did there!) I was tempted to buy the full version of this and maybe I will in the new year!
FAVOURITE EYESHADOW:
If I was told to pick one holy grail beauty product from 2015, without a question of doubt it would be this one! The Collection, eyes uncovered palette is simply amazing. For the price, you get six stunning, wearable eyeshadows that are so long lasting. The shade ' in a nutshell' in particular is a favourite of mine. I have worn this shade nearly every day since I got it! Safe to say I was a bit obsessed!
FAVOURITE LIPGLOSS:
I couldn't choose, so I picked two, okay I'm cheating but whatever I live life on the edge! I think because they are so different they are uncomparable. The first one is this stunning bright pink colour in the shade cotton candy from Collection! Another absolute steal from this brand, it smells amazing and is very matte on the lip. Although it is a bit drying the longevity of it is just wow! My second favourite lip gloss this year has been this one from Ted Baker! Although I did feature it in the makeup I need to use more often post back in the summer during the winter period I have fallen in love with it! It is such a festive colour and actually really easy to apply despite being a bright red!
FAVOURITE LIPSTICK:
2015 was not a year of a great voyage into the lipstick world! All three lipsticks that I bought were pretty disappointing, however, one that I did use on and off throughout the year is Ravishing rose from Avon. This plum colour is one I will probably reach for more in the autumn although I can see myself wearing it all year around! Although loved it in 2015, I don't know how it is going to compare to my recent high-end lipstick purchases!
FAVOURITE BODY PRODUCT:
I didn't really know what to call this category if I'm honest! I am not a massive lover of body butter or lush bath bombs, however, one standout product that I have used throughout the year for my hands is hand dream by soap and glory! The amount of times I have recommended this to people on twitter is unreal, it is so much better than hand food as it soaks into the skin so quickly without feeling greasy at all!
And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this quick round-up of some of my favourite beauty loves of 2015! I hope to discover lots more amazing products in 2016 as well!

oh definitely! This year was all about affordable but I now have quite a big selection of high end lipsticks haha x
DeleteThese products are so similar/ the same as my favourites. I love the Rimmel foundation as it's so pale. Have you tried the Seventeen Stay Time concealer? It's so good and extra fair matches the Rimmel foundation perfectly. Also, the collection cream puffs are some of my favourite lip products!

They are really good aren't they?! x
DeleteOooh! I'm sure that's the same foundation that I use and it's amazing! (I say I'm sure because I often forget it's name and just remember how the bottle looks when I buy it, which is awful, I know) I'm really bad at doing makeup and tend to rush it in 5 minutes (quick foundation, eyeliner and mascara and then I have to run to catch a train to college) but I definitely think I should invest in the stay matte powder as well. I really enjoyed this post, and it brought a variety of new products to my attention!

DeleteLoved reading through your favourites and product recommendations. I still can't believe I'm yet to try the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, I'll definitely be picking it up once I'm out of my current powder. I'm also tempted to pick up the full size Roller Lash, I've got so many mascaras on the go at the moment so it'll have the wait.
ReplyDeleteAim | www.thetracesofmythoughts.blogspot.co.uk x x
You definitely need to, its a holy grail! Thats the problem I had with the full sized roller lash, I will probably pick it mid year but mascara never seems to run out haha :) xx

DeleteI literally couldn't live without the Rimmel powder! It's a lifesaver! I love the soap and glory products as well, great choices! :) xxx http://www.samanthafrances.co.uk
ReplyDeleteSame! I use it everyday! Thank you very much x
DeleteI mislabeled one of my blog post with the wrong year! Luckily I realised before it published. I've got the sample of Benefit's Roller Lash mascara & love it too! It's a bit too expensive for me to re-purchase on a regular basis at the moment, but hopefully in the future I'll be able to. I love the look of the Collection Undercover Eyes palettes. They remind me of the Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes, but would actually suit me better because I'm not a huge fan of matte shadows. I definitely need to pick at least one up in 2016! Xx

Awesome post, I love reading round-ups of the year like this! I'm still to record mine for YT, but I know for a fact my Collection palette is in my favourites this year! I think I have the bronze one, and I'm trying to resist buying the other two shade ranges, they're so pigmented and gorgeous though! I'm also a big fan of Rimmel's Stay Matte. It's one of the first powders I bought and will be with me forever!
ReplyDeleteAmanda Jayne / beauty, style + everything else
roller lash is also my favourite mascara, i would re-buy it over and over again!
ReplyDeleteHannah at WRITTEN BY HANNAH
